Our goal is to assist you in gaining confidence for your lifelong journey of healthcare. Our Diabetes Center is available to inpatients, outpatients, and the community.
Living with Diabetes
Nearly 6 million Americans are unaware that they have Diabetes. You may be at risk if you have these symptoms:
- Increased urination
- Unusual fatigue
- Increased thirst
- Dry and itchy skin
- Dry mouth
- Frequent infections
- Change in vision
- Slow healing
- Increased hunger
Different people have different symptoms and some people have no symptoms at all. If you have Diabetes, your physician will refer you to a certified Diabetes education team to assist you in developing an individualized treatment plan.

Marymount Hospital’s team of certified Diabetes specialists works one-on-one with each patient
to help you maintain a healthy lifestyle through education, nutrition, exercise and ongoing support. We can help you control your diabetes and optimize your ability to live a productive and satisfying life. Our team consists of a certified Diabetes Nurse Educator, Registered Dietitian and Pharmacist.
We provide personal training on:
- Medication management
- Nutrition management and meal planning
- Physical activity
- Blood glucose monitoring
- Goal setting and problem solving
- Gestational management
- Renal disease management
Insurance
Outpatient services may be reimbursed when you obtain a physician referral. Your individual insurance
policy defines the extent of your coverage. If you have any questions regarding insurance coverage,

Diabetes Education
In order to increase public awareness of Diabetes, Marymount Hospital offers free community Diabetes education programs throughout the year.
