The Marymount Hospital Women’s Guild is comprised of women from many walks of life with one thing in common -- generously supporting Marymount Hospital. The Guild began in 1947 and has made significant contributions to the hospital's success. The Guild began a longstanding and dedicated tradition of loyal support under the leadership of their first President, Mrs. Leo Orlikowski. Organizing benefit bazaars and a tireless array of fundraising activities in collaboration with physicians, corporations and parishes, the Guild helped raise enough funds within its first two years of operation to furnish many patient rooms and purchase equipment for several hospital departments.
Throughout the next six decades of their existence, the Women's Guild has spearheaded expansion fund campaigns to enable the continued growth and responsiveness of Marymount Hospital. Most recently, the Guild supported the recent expansion project resulting in a new ICU and Emergency Department, the first major expansion on the Marymount campus in nearly 40 years.
So it was in 1947 and so it is today: the Guild provides inspiration and dedication to enable Marymount Hospital to further its mission in serving the physical, emotional, spiritual, psychological, and social needs of the community. We invite you to join the Guild and discover new ways to make friends while supporting the work of Marymount Hospital.
The Guild meets monthly and is involved in special craft projects, flower sales, and other activities and celebrations throughout the year, such as holiday parties and the annual May Crowning.
