The Knitting Circle is a joint effort between Marymount Hospital and Marymount Place, an assisted living community located directly behind the hospital off Granger Road.
The Knitting Circle was formed in 2006 to give infants born at Marymount Hospital a hand-made gift. Hospital and community volunteers, along with residents of Marymount Place, have crafted more than 1,500 hand-knit infant caps and blankets. “We are so pleased with the amount of energy and creativity these ladies have, and are amazed at what they have accomplished so far. This effort wouldn’t be possible without the support of the community, our residents, and even my own mother. "They never give up,” said Donna Galbraith, Activities Coordinator at Marymount Place.
The knitting group meets every Tuesday from 3 - 4:30 pm at Marymount Place. You are welcome to join the Knitting Circle or work from home and drop off your items at Marymount Place. Donations of knitted infant blankets and caps, lap throws for seniors, or new baby or sport yarn are being accepted.
